This role has one job at its core: every machine in the fleet is serviced, repaired, and ready before snow season starts, and stays running through it. That is the craft. Trucks and equipment stay out of the yard and in the field where they earn their keep, and the field crews count on what rolls out of the shop. We're looking for a Mechanic in Norfolk, ma. If that work speaks to you, keep reading. Why Work With Us Hunter Environmental is a growing company in environmental construction and snow removal. The craft of this seat is what the whole operation leans on when the snow starts falling. Machines hold up mid-storm, winter prep finishes on time, and the crews in the field have equipment they can count on. That is what good looks like here. Because we are still growing, the person who takes this seat helps shape how the shop runs day to day. Your ideas carry weight, and the standard of the work carries your name. If a shop built around craft and finished work sounds like your kind of place, keep reading. Please Don't Apply If\u2026 You are fine handing a job to the next person half done. You swap parts until something changes instead of finding the actual fault. You go quiet when the plan shifts at the last minute. You leave your bench, your cart, and the parts room however you found them. You sit on a correction instead of applying it the same day. You want someone else holding your schedule for you. Are You a Great Fit? You take pride in pointing at a finished machine and saying you built it, refurbished it, or brought it back from worn out. You chase the job nobody else wants to pick up, and you want a different problem in front of you every day. You set your own pace and hold to it. You put preventive work on the calendar and do not let it slip. You check your own work before it leaves the bench. When you spot a problem, you flag it the moment you see it, and you ask early for what you need. You pick up the phone on a holiday when a storm is on, and the long hours do not surprise you when the pay follows them. You write down what you did and when, and you show the next person how you did it. Respect comes from finished work, and that fits how you think. You put shared spaces back the way you found them, because the next job starts faster when they are in order. What You'll Be Responsible For A Fleet Ready Before The First Snow From late April through October, you pace the prep window so every machine in the fleet is fully serviced and ready to run for the season by the October 31 deadline. Preventive maintenance follows a schedule you set and hold yourself to, logged in the maintenance tracking system so nothing slips. Each service is a real inspection. Developing problems get caught while there is still time to fix them, which is the point of running the schedule in the first place. Repairs Done To The Root Cause When a truck or a piece of heavy equipment comes in broken, you diagnose it to the actual fault and finish the repair so it holds. You pull scan data, you work the hydraulics, you follow the problem to where it lives, and the machine runs when it leaves. In season the pressure climbs. Seventy-hour weeks and holidays come with the territory when a storm is on, and a machine that goes down gets back to the crews the same push. Overhauls And Builds That Carry Your Name You take worn equipment through full refurbishment and bring it back ready for service. You build hooklift trucks in-house from the ground up, the kind of work a person points at years later. When a refurb or a build leaves the shop, it performs the way it should and holds up through a full season of hard use. Parts Made In-House When a part is not on the shelf, or is not worth waiting on, you make it. You cut, weld, and paint using the shop's fabrication equipment, and the finish holds up in the field. The shop keeps moving under its own power. A Final Check Before The Field Every machine gets inspected before it is released to the crews, and it le…
