FirstExpress has immediate openings for a Diesel Mechanic at our service center in Nashville, TN. In this diesel mechanic position, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance and diesel technician repairs of fleet equipment. This diesel technician position requires physical exertion and flexibility with hours. Serious inquiries only. Job Details: 1st shift – Monday thru Friday 2nd shift – Monday thru Friday Rotating Saturdays Pay based on experience and shift – Starting at $30-32/hour Mechanic Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to: Able to supervise and manage 2-3 people Knowledge of the electric system PM/annual inspection of trucks and trailers Tire and lube work Brake inspection/repair Able to install Transflo and Geotabs Install windshields on Volvo, Freightliner and Macks Prepping new trucks to be put into service Prepping sold trucks to be sold Engine/transmission diagnose A/C repair Steering repair Job Requirements: 5+ years relevant mechanic experience required (diesel, transportation, heavy equipment, automotive) Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Able to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy duty trucks, powertrain, electrical, and lighting systems Valid driver’s license Experience with Volvo, Freightliner (Detroit), Kenworth (Paccar) & Mack warranty a plus Familiar with Thermo King and Carrier APU units a plus Knowledge of Tech Tool, Detroit Connect, Cummins Insite, Bendix, and ACOM Pro a plus Benefits: Health and life insurance 401k and matching starts day 1 To apply, please contact Karl at karlbailey@firstexpress.net.
