Diesel Mechanic

Lopez Trucking II / Next Tire LLC is looking for an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Lorton, VA. We operate a busy heavy-duty truck repair shop and maintain a large fleet of commercial trucks. We're looking for a dependable mechanic who can diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and is comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment. Pay: $1,000–$2,000 per week, depending on experience and skill level. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks Perform preventive maintenance and routine services Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems Repair brake, suspension, steering, cooling, and air systems Perform engine and aftertreatment/DEF system diagnostics and repairs Use diagnostic software and scan tools to troubleshoot faults Complete repairs accurately and efficiently Identify additional repairs or safety concerns when inspecting vehicles Maintain a clean and safe work area Experience We're Looking For Previous heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience Experience working with commercial trucks and diesel engines Ability to diagnose problems rather than only replace parts Knowledge of air brake and suspension systems Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems Experience working with Freightliner, Mack, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, PACCAR, Cummins, Detroit, or similar heavy-duty equipment Must be dependable and able to work as part of a team Virginia State Inspection license is a major plus, but not required Schedule Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM Saturday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM Some Saturdays may be scheduled off depending on shop coverage and workload.
