Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignments, and HVAC system checks to keep equipment in optimal condition. Troubleshoot complex issues related to heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or project requirements. Inspect and service oilfield equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. Assist in assembly and disassembly of heavy machinery during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Utilize electrical diagnostics tools to identify issues within electrical systems and perform necessary repairs promptly. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules for accountability and future reference. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including tractors, trailers, and other construction machinery. Proficiency in using schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and troubleshooting heavy equipment systems. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to use power tools safely. Familiarity with OEM parts sourcing and vehicle maintenance procedures for diesel engines and transmissions. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using automotive diagnostics tools. Knowledge of hydraulics systems, suspension components, air brakes, HVAC systems, tire service, alignment procedures, and electrical systems is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs. Valid certifications related to heavy equipment servicing or diesel engine repair are advantageous; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
