Diesel Mechanic

Location: La Feria, TX Overview: This position requires ensuring that fleet vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with federal and state regulations. Pay: Depending on qualifications. Benefits Professional development assistance Paid Vacation Health Insurance Main Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections and scheduled services—including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid level checks, tire pressure monitoring, and lubrication—to prevent breakdowns. Use computerized diagnostic software, scanners, multimeters, and manual tests to isolate electrical, fuel, emissions, and mechanical faults. Remove, repair, rebuild, or replace worn-out or damaged components across key systems, including engines, transmissions, drivelines, brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic units. Maintain detailed service and repair records for every vehicle in the fleet, document work orders, and coordinate parts ordering or inventory management. Required Skills & Qualifications: Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions in English. Skilled in the use and care of hand and small tool associated with the work (preferred). Must be able to work efficiently (sometimes) without supervision. Diesel engine repair: 1 year experience (Preferred) Mechanical knowledge: at least 2 years of experience (Preferred) Experience with Brakes Experience with AC Class A CDL, preferred but not required Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Mon - Fri Weekends (Overtime) Shift availability: Night (early) shift (Preferred) Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds. Must be able to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs, as well as whole-body movement (such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, crouching, bending, twisting, and handling materials). Must be able to work both inside and outside the manufacturing environment during long shifts, including weekends. The position requires manual dexterity, steady arm and hand movements, and a safety-oriented attitude. Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noise. Must have the ability to focus on tasks for extended periods and to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
