Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our skilled maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction equipment, industrial machinery, and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates efficiently and safely across various job sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment while contributing to essential infrastructure projects. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brakes, and suspension components. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignments, and equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot equipment issues using schematics and diagnostic tools to identify root causes swiftly. Fabricate or modify parts using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or project requirements. Maintain detailed service records and ensure all repairs meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards for safety and performance. Assist with heavy lifting and tire services on construction machinery and vehicles as needed. Support the operation of heavy equipment by performing maintenance that maximizes uptime and operational efficiency. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with a strong background in construction machinery maintenance. Dealership experience or OEM certification is highly desirable, but not required. Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, welding, and fabrication techniques. Familiarity with schematics for heavy equipment operation and repair is essential. Knowledge of construction equipment servicing, including excavators, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial machinery. Ability to use power tools effectively while adhering to safety protocols. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and project managers.
