Job Title: 3rd Shift Diesel Mechanic / Technician Location: Edinburgh, IN Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Shift: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Schedule: Sunday night through Thursday morning (Heading home Friday morning) Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable 3rd Shift Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Edinburgh, IN . In this role, you will be responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on our fleet of diesel trucks and equipment during the overnight shift. Your work ensures our fleet remains safe, compliant, and ready for operation each morning. Key Responsibilities: * Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems failures. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering, and suspensions. Utilize computer diagnostic software to identify electronic system faults. Conduct safety inspections and ensure all fleet vehicles comply with DOT regulations. Document all completed repairs, maintenance logs, and parts used in the shop management system. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards. Qualifications and Skills: * High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or technician. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and air brake systems. Proficiency with electronic diagnostic tools and software. Must possess a personal set of standard tools required for the trade. Valid driver’s license required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B) is a strong plus.
