Diesel Journeyman/ Truck Mechanic A locally owned farming operation, widely known for the production of premium quality agricultural products, in Yamhill County is looking to hire a full-time, year-round Diesel Journeyman Mechanic. This is a shop/field technician position that comes with the use of a service vehicle, as well as a competitive wage and benefits package. The farming industry requires an ideal person to be flexible and can deal well with ambiguity, constant re-prioritization of the day, and the ability to think quickly and creatively. This position will include advancement opportunities for the right candidate, as well as full benefits after a 90-day probationary period. Responsibilities: The ideal Candidate will be able to diagnose, disassemble and assemble, overhaul, repair, rebuild, and adjust trucks, tractors and farm equipment under minimal supervision. Attention and strict adherence to all safety and health procedures is expected. Will be required to maintain thorough and accurate shop and vehicle records as needed. This is a brief description of responsibilities, and may be subject to change or modification in order to improve efficiency. Schedule 40-60 hours per week depending on season. Overtime for 48+ hours. Monday- Friday with occasional weekends during harvest season Qualifications: A technical degree or 4 years of hands-on experience, additional experience in lieu of formal training accepted Working knowledge of engines, brake, fuel, hydraulic and electrical systems Proficient in welding/fabrication Strict adherence to high safety standards Basic computer skills, MS Office preferred Must provide own tools Must have a valid driver’s license Ability to procure certification as needed Proficient verbal and written communication in English – bilingual in Spanish preferred Desired Skills: Comfort with fast-paced environment Deals well with high volume and re-shifting of priorities Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and respectfulness Reliability and consistency with regards to attendance Self-motivated and ability to see a task or project to completion Demonstrated common sense approach in situations Team player and willingness to learn new tasks Benefits: Competitive Pay DOE ($25-$35) Paid vacation / sick time pay Paid holidays Healthcare 401K How to Apply: Send your Resume with a Cover Letter .
