Position Summary South Bay Solutions is seeking an experienced and motivated Detail Lead to oversee daily detailing operations and ensure all parts are cleaned, polished, and prepared to company quality standards. This position is responsible for leading the detailing team, maintaining workflow efficiency, enforcing quality standards, and coordinating with production and quality departments to support manufacturing schedules and on-time deliveries. The ideal candidate has hands-on detailing experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced production setting. Schedule Day Shift Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-5:35 PM Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Coordination Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance. Train and mentor detailing technicians on proper techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. Foster a positive, productive, and team-oriented work environment. Provide coaching and support to ensure quality and productivity goals are achieved. Quality Control Inspect completed parts to ensure cleanliness, finish quality, and compliance with company standards. Identify quality concerns and implement corrective actions as needed. Maintain consistency in detailing processes and workmanship. Workflow & Scheduling Prioritize work according to production schedules and customer delivery requirements. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Shipping, and other departments to maintain efficient workflow. Monitor job status and adjust priorities to meet deadlines. Equipment & Inventory Management Ensure proper use and maintenance of detailing equipment and tools. Monitor inventory levels of detailing supplies and coordinate replenishment as needed. Maintain organized and efficient workstations and storage areas. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies. Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning products and chemicals. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. Qualifications Experience 2+ years of experience in machine shop detailing, manufacturing finishing, or a related industrial environment. Previous Lead, Supervisor, or Team Lead experience preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of cleaning, polishing, deburring, and detailing techniques. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working around machinery, cleaning chemicals, and industrial equipment.
