Design Assistant
Metal + PetalDesign Assistant | Metal + Petal Metal + Petal is a full-service interior design firm specializing in high-end residential and commercial interiors. We are seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our design team from initial concept through final installation. 40 hours a week. Our Expectations We value initiative, accountability, professionalism, and thoughtful design. Our Design Assistants are expected to anticipate needs, meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and take pride in every detail. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable contributing creatively and handling the organization required to bring a project to completion. Compensation: $22 - $32 hourly Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities Assist with design concepts, mood boards, presentations, and material selections. Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallcoverings, finishes, and accessories. Prepare furniture plans, elevations, specifications, and design documentation. Request samples, pricing, and product information from vendors. Maintain organized project files, selections, schedules, and design presentations. Coordinate with designers, vendors, contractors, and the procurement team. Track design deliverables, deadlines, and outstanding selections. Assist with client presentations, site visits, installations, and final styling. Research new products, materials, and design resources. Qualifications: Education or experience in interior design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design software preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A proactive attitude, creative eye, and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
