The pay range represents the anticipated base pay for this position. Actual pay will be based on factoring including, but not limited to: market data, internal equity, skillset and knowledge, experience, education and overall qualifications for the role.
This position is eligible for the Annual Incentive Plan.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall performance of the deposit operations functions within the bank by ensuring the Deposit Operations team delivers timely, professional and accurate service while meeting appropriate service level agreements. Facilitates implementation of products/services that affect deposit operations by participating in projects and working with other affected business lines to ensure success. Manages, directs, coordinates and supervises all aspects of the Deposit Operations team; seeking efficiency and implementing scalable solutions. Works closely with business partners to implement solutions. Player/coach role that acts in backup capacity for team tasks. Ensures own work and the work of the Deposit Operations team are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines. Uses independent judgement to evaluate and implement deposit risks and controls that impact the bank.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Optimize team talents by providing leadership and coaching to individuals by:
- Establishing clear goals that tie to the vision and mission of the business.
- Determine staffing needs; Recruit, hire and onboard talent.
- Document and conduct annual performance review process duties on time.
- Conduct ongoing one on one coaching sessions.
- Managing employee performance issues in a timely manner and adhering to employment policies.
- Participate in leadership training opportunities and apply learnings
2. Oversee the functionality of Deposit Operations, including cash management in order to:
- Ensure the timely processing and support of all deposit products, services and ancillary products/services including but not limited to checking, savings, CD, IRA, EFT, HSA, Safe Deposit Boxes, ACH, Wires and Cash Management processes.
- Achieve satisfactory audits and compliance reviews by ensuring ongoing compliance with Federal and State regulatory guidelines and adherence to established policies and procedures. Ensure findings are addressed timely and thoroughly.
- Implement departmental process improvements and/or cost savings.
- Understand and manage department priorities and team workloads.
- Provide adequate and appropriate training to effectively complete all tasks.
- Monitor services offered and recommend changes, updates and department restructuring as necessary.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality service by team members to internal and external customers.
3. Manage or assist with system upgrades and roll outs of new products and services by:
- Partnering with all applicable departments.
- Focusing on efficiency.
- Developing scalable processes.
- Acting as Project Representative to implement, test and train new products affecting the Deposit Operations team.
- Working with processor, Fiserv, to determine appropriate spec changes involved
- Verifies data before and after Bank-initiated projects and assists with other tasks concerning mergers/projects as assigned
- Monitor performance of new products/services to ensure ongoing success.
4. Represent Deposit Operations Department by serving as liaison between all other internal departments:
- Attend communication meetings and/or participate in onsite visits to other bank team members.
- Provide guidance and support to bank team members.
- Serve as a team player and promote a positive attitude.
- Evaluate various risks in comparison to controls and provide guidance to all business lines.
- Serve on various Bank committees.
5. Support Corporate Objectives by:
- Reviewing and assuring implementation of procedures align with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Measuring effectiveness of existing procedures by consistent, on-going function review in order to recommend process improvements and integration of necessary controls.
- Completion of ongoing risk assessments and management of appropriate controls.
- Meeting or exceeding budgeted and forecasted financial performance goals.
- Validate invoices and reconcile with current pricing contracts
- Determining appropriate staffing levels and ensuring these levels are met.
- Maintain integrity of deposit data in systems through participation in the IT Steering Committee, providing system change approvals of deposit data, and ensuring appropriate user access controls for deposit systems.
- Administer fraud events and provide deposit operations expertise to respond to and prevent fraud.
6. Assist Director of Operations in developing a Deposit Operations strategic plan and implementing programs to support division’s goals (financial, quality, customer service, operational efficiency, etc.) by:
- Participating in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, compliance and priorities for Deposit Operations
- Successful implementation of eCommerce portion of Deposit Operations strategic plan
- Preparing routine reports (financial, quality, customer service, operational efficiency, etc.) to be reviewed by the CFO and other business unit managers that describe the department’s ability to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education-
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent progressive experience
Experience-
- Required: 5-8 years of experience in Deposit Operations with at least 2 years of leadership experience
- Preferred: 8-12 years of experience in Deposit Operations with at least 4 years of leadership experience
Certifications-
- Preferred: Accredited ACH Professional
SCHEDULE
This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The Company reserves the right to change the schedule as required for business needs.
