Department Store Manager

Job Summary Peoples Department Store is seeking an experienced and results-driven Department Store Manager to oversee daily retail operations and ensure an excellent shopping experience for customers. The successful candidate will supervise employees, manage merchandise and inventory, monitor sales performance, coordinate department activities, and maintain high standards of customer service and store presentation. Supervise, train, and support store employees and department supervisors. Develop staff schedules and coordinate daily work assignments. Monitor sales performance and help achieve store revenue goals. Manage inventory levels, merchandise ordering, and stock replenishment. Ensure products are properly displayed, priced, and organized. Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards. Handle customer complaints and resolve service-related concerns. Review sales reports, operating expenses, and inventory records. Coordinate promotional activities and seasonal merchandise displays. Ensure employees follow company policies and retail procedures. Identify opportunities to improve store efficiency and customer satisfaction. Qualifications and Requirements Previous experience in retail management or department store operations. Supervisory or team leadership experience. Strong communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of inventory management and retail merchandising. Ability to monitor sales performance and operational costs. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with POS systems and retail management software. High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in business or retail management is preferred.
