Overview
We are seeking a Demand Planner to support forecasting and inventory planning for our aftermarket tire and accessories business. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining demand forecasts across a complex, seasonal, and SKU-intensive product portfolio. Working closely with Sales, Supply Planning, Purchasing, Marketing, Product Management, and Finance, the Demand Planner will help improve forecast accuracy, support inventory availability, and contribute to the monthly Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large datasets to identify trends, solve problems, and support data-driven supply chain decisions.
Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Forecasting
• Develop and maintain statistical demand forecasts using historical sales, market trends, and business inputs.
• Analyze seasonality, customer demand patterns, promotions, pricing initiatives, and product lifecycle changes to improve forecast accuracy.
• Support forecasting for new product launches and product transitions.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in monthly SIOP and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) meetings by providing forecast analysis and recommendations.
Inventory Planning Support
• Partner with Supply Planning and Purchasing to translate demand forecasts into replenishment plans.
• Monitor inventory performance, service levels, and weeks of supply across product categories.
• Assist with SKU rationalization, product phase-ins, and phase-outs.
• Support inventory allocation analysis during supply constraints or demand shifts.
• Help maintain appropriate inventory levels to support customer service and business objectives.
Reporting & Analytics
• Prepare recurring reports on forecast accuracy, inventory health, fill rates, and demand trends.
• Analyze forecast variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with continuous improvements to forecasting models and planning processes.
• Support annual budgeting and long-range demand planning activities.
• Build dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility into demand and inventory performance.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, inventory planning, supply chain, or a related analytical role.
• Experience working with ERP and demand planning systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities.
• Experience interpreting large datasets to support business decisions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
• Experience within the automotive aftermarket, manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products industries.
• Exposure to SIOP or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
• Experience with planning platforms such as SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, o9, or similar.
