Position: Demand Planner

Job Summary

The Demand Planner turns customer orders into a production and shipping plan that the plant can actually deliver. You will own the daily and weekly schedule for your assigned plant(s), working side by side with plant leadership to balance capacity, materials and customer due dates. This role is built for someone who has planned or scheduled in a manufacturing plant. You see a conflict coming, decide how to solve it, and keep everyone aligned so orders ship on time and in full.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own the daily and weekly delivery schedule, sequencing orders by due date, machine capacity, changeovers, material availability, optimizing order configurations to maximize truck and trailer capacity, and logistically align with transportation standards.
  • Partner daily with the Plant Manager and production supervisors on priorities, capacity constraints, downtime and schedule changes
  • Review incoming customer orders with Customer Service and Sales, confirm realistic ship dates, and flag at-risk orders early with options to recover
  • Plan raw material and intercompany transfer needs so production is never waiting on components
  • Coordinate with Transportation and Shipping to turn completed production into efficient, on-time loads
  • Track on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance and the short-term revenue forecast on our BI platform, and identify root causes when orders are missing
  • Lead the weekly delivery and scheduling calls for your assigned plant(s)
  • Resolve competing priorities independently, escalating only when a decision needs leadership input
  • Other duties as assigned by the Scheduling Manager

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment in production planning, production scheduling, or materials planning
  • Experience building a production schedule around capacity, changeovers and material constraints
  • Familiarity with an ERP system (Sage preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
  • Confident, clear communication with plant leadership, the production floor and customers

Preferred

  • Production Planner or Production Scheduler title in a manufacturing plant
  • Experience in molding, foam, plastics or other high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience with Power BI or a similar BI tool
  • Familiarity with shipping, receiving and FTL/LTL load planning
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business or a related field

You will thrive here if you...

  • Like owning the outcome, not just the spreadsheet
  • Stay calm and organized when the schedule changes three times before lunch
  • Would rather solve a problem than wait for someone to assign it
  • Can tell a plant manager or sales manager “we can’t run that tomorrow” and offer what you can do instead
