Position Overview The Driver I is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of Old Town Baking Company products to customers and company locations. This position operates company vehicles along assigned routes, loads and unloads products, verifies deliveries, and maintains appropriate delivery documentation. The Driver I represents Old Town Baking Company while interacting with customers and is expected to provide professional and courteous service while following company safety, food safety, timekeeping, and vehicle operation requirements. This position may also assist with Distribution and Fulfillment operations as needed. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Delivery & Route Operations Safely operate company vehicles to complete assigned delivery routes and transfers between company locations. Complete deliveries safely, accurately, and on schedule while following assigned routes, delivery instructions, and customer requirements. Verify products, quantities, invoices, delivery documents, and other required information before leaving the distribution facility. Obtain required signatures, proof of delivery, or other documentation and promptly report delivery discrepancies. Communicate delays, route issues, missed deliveries, customer concerns, or other problems to the Distribution Manager or appropriate supervisor. Assist with alternate routes or delivery coverage when operational needs require it. Product Handling & Customer Service Load, organize, transport, and unload bakery products in a manner that protects product quality and prevents damage. Verify that products are properly staged, labeled, organized, and secured before transport. Maintain proper product handling and food safety practices throughout loading, transportation, and delivery. Provide professional, courteous customer service during deliveries and represent Old Town Baking Company appropriately at customer locations. Assist with receiving, picking, packing, staging, loading, warehouse organization, and other Distribution or Fulfillment duties when required. Vehicle Safety & Compliance Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report vehicle damage, mechanical concerns, accidents, or safety issues. Maintain company vehicles in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Follow all applicable traffic laws, company driving procedures, vehicle safety requirements, and company policies. Maintain a valid California Class C Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and continued eligibility to operate company vehicles, and promptly report any change that may affect driving eligibility. Follow company timekeeping requirements, including proper clock-in, clock-out, and meal-period procedures. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation procedures, food safety requirements, and workplace safety practices. Perform all other duties as assigned. Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and move throughout warehouse, loading, and customer delivery areas. Ability to repeatedly enter and exit company delivery vehicles throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely move products, trays, racks, carts, or other delivery materials.
