Driver Helper – Touch Freight DeliveryJob Summary We are seeking dependable, hardworking Driver Helpers for a high-volume touch-freight delivery operation. This is a physically demanding position. Driver Helpers work directly with Class A delivery drivers to unload and deliver freight at customer locations. Many routes involve the handling and delivery of 500+ cases per day . If you are not comfortable with repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, walking, and unloading freight throughout the workday, this position may not be a good fit. Responsibilities Assist driver with unloading and delivering high-volume touch freight . Handle, carry, stack, and organize cases at customer locations. Use hand trucks, dollies, carts, and other delivery equipment. Assist with checking freight for shortages, overages, and damages. Maintain a safe and efficient pace throughout the route. Provide professional customer service. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Maintain control of company equipment and delivery tools. Keep delivery areas and equipment organized. Act as a spotter whenever the delivery vehicle is backing as required. Immediately signal the driver to stop if an unsafe condition develops or visual contact is lost. Physical Requirements Applicants must be able to: Repeatedly lift and handle cases weighing up to approximately 50 lbs. Handle 500+ cases on high-volume routes . Frequently bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull. Push and pull loaded hand trucks and carts. Frequently enter and exit the delivery vehicle. Walk and stand for extended periods. Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions. Maintain the stamina required for a physically demanding delivery route. Requirements Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to perform repetitive physical labor throughout the shift. Ability to work effectively as part of a driver/helper team . Strong safety awareness. Ability to follow instructions and company procedures. Professional attitude when dealing with customers. Previous delivery, warehouse, beverage distribution, moving, construction, or other physical work experience is preferred. IMPORTANT: This is a TOUCH-FREIGHT position. This is not a ride-along or primarily driving position. You will be actively unloading and handling freight throughout the route.
