Delivery Fleet Manager

Job Summary Caterwheels Delivery is seeking an experienced and organized Delivery Fleet Manager to oversee fleet operations, coordinate delivery vehicles, and ensure efficient transportation services. This role is responsible for managing vehicle assignments, monitoring fleet performance, coordinating maintenance schedules, supervising delivery personnel, and supporting reliable day-to-day delivery operations. The ideal candidate has experience in fleet management, transportation, or logistics operations, with strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills. The manager will help maintain vehicle reliability, control operating costs, and improve delivery efficiency. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily delivery fleet operations and transportation activities. Manage vehicle assignments based on delivery schedules and operational requirements. Supervise delivery drivers and coordinate fleet-related responsibilities. Monitor vehicle availability, utilization, mileage, and operating performance. Schedule routine vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance. Coordinate vehicle repairs and communicate with maintenance service providers. Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration, insurance, inspections, and maintenance. Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle expenses, and fleet operating costs. Develop procedures to reduce vehicle downtime and improve fleet efficiency. Coordinate with dispatch teams to support timely delivery operations. Monitor driver performance and encourage safe driving practices. Ensure vehicles are clean, properly equipped, and ready for scheduled assignments. Review delivery routes and recommend improvements to transportation planning. Investigate vehicle-related incidents and document operational concerns. Monitor compliance with applicable transportation and workplace safety requirements. Prepare fleet performance reports and maintenance summaries for management. Identify opportunities to improve fleet productivity and reduce operating expenses. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in fleet management, transportation, or logistics operations. Supervisory or team management experience preferred. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance scheduling and fleet administration. Understanding of transportation safety procedures and driver requirements. Familiarity with fleet tracking and dispatch management systems. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to manage maintenance schedules and operational priorities. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and reporting tools. Ability to coordinate with drivers, technicians, vendors, and management. Preferred Skills Experience managing delivery vehicles or commercial transportation fleets. Knowledge of GPS tracking and fleet management software. Ability to analyze fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle performance data. Experience coordinating vehicle inspections and maintenance programs. Strong budgeting and cost-control abilities. Understanding of route planning and delivery scheduling. Ability to develop efficient fleet procedures and improve vehicle utilization.
