SHOW ME RENTS Job Description: Delivery Driver & Yard Technician Locations: Bolivar & Marshfield, Missouri Department: Rental Operations Position Type: Full-Time Reports To: Store Manager / Operations Manager Position Summary Show Me Rents is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver & Yard Technician . This position is responsible for safely delivering and picking up rental equipment, maintaining equipment in rental-ready condition, assisting customers with equipment operation, and keeping our rental yard clean, organized, and efficient. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, takes pride in their work, works well independently, and understands that customer service and equipment reliability are essential to our success. At Show Me Rents, we believe in taking care of our customers, maintaining quality equipment, and working together as a team. Primary Responsibilities 1. Equipment Delivery & Pickup Safely deliver and pick up rental equipment at customer locations and job sites. Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment properly using company trucks and trailers. Inspect equipment before delivery and upon return. Verify equipment condition, fuel levels, hour meter readings, and accessories. Demonstrate basic equipment operation and safety procedures to customers. Communicate professionally with customers during deliveries and pickups. Follow assigned delivery schedules and communicate delays or problems. Maintain company vehicles and trailers in clean, safe, and operational condition. Follow all applicable DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company transportation policies. 2. Equipment Inspection & Maintenance Inspect rental equipment before and after each rental. Clean, wash, and prepare returned equipment for the next customer. Check and maintain fluid levels, grease points, tire pressures, and other routine service items. Identify equipment damage, excessive wear, leaks, and mechanical problems. Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance within training and authorization. Report major mechanical issues to management or the mechanic. Ensure equipment is properly fueled, serviced, and rental-ready. Complete equipment inspection and maintenance records accurately. Never knowingly release unsafe or defective equipment for rental. 3. Yard Organization & Facility Maintenance Keep the rental yard clean, organized, and professional in appearance. Park and arrange equipment in designated locations. Maintain clear driveways, loading areas, and customer access. Organize attachments, trailers, tools, and rental accessories. Assist with unloading incoming equipment, parts, and supplies. Perform general facility upkeep, including trash removal, sweeping, mowing, and other assigned tasks. Help maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers. 4. Customer Service & Rental Support Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner. Help customers load and unload rental equipment. Explain basic equipment controls, safe operation, and rental return expectations. Answer basic questions about rental equipment and accessories. Direct rental inquiries, billing questions, and customer concerns to the appropriate team member. Assist rental counter personnel during busy periods. Represent Show Me Rents positively at customer locations and in the community. 5. Teamwork & Daily Operations Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks on time. Communicate equipment problems, customer concerns, and scheduling conflicts promptly. Work with rental counter staff, management, mechanics, and other drivers to keep operations running smoothly. Take initiative when assigned work is completed. Assist other employees and departments as needed. Properly use company equipment, tools, vehicles, and supplies.
