Delivery Driver/Yard & Customer Service Associate

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused team member to join our delivery and yard operations. This is a hands-on position that combines driving, lumber and building material handling, yard and store support, and customer service. The ideal candidate has knowledge of lumber and building materials, is comfortable working with contractors and homeowners, and takes pride in providing reliable service from the time an order is prepared until it reaches the customer. The Role As a Delivery Driver / Yard & Customer Service Associate, you will be responsible for safely delivering materials while also supporting the day-to-day operation of our yard and store. Delivery & Material Handling Safely deliver lumber and building materials to job sites and customers' homes using company vehicles. Load, secure, transport, and unload materials safely and efficiently. Review and verify orders before leaving to ensure customers receive the correct products. Use your knowledge of lumber and building materials to properly handle, organize, and deliver products. Assist with loading customer orders and preparing materials for delivery or pickup. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked delivery vehicles. Customer Service Provide friendly, professional, and helpful service to contractors, homeowners, and other customers. Greet and assist customers in the store and over the phone. Answer basic product and order questions or connect customers with the appropriate team member. Represent the company professionally at customer homes, job sites, and throughout the store and yard. Yard & Store Support Help maintain an organized and efficient yard and store. Stock, organize, and move inventory as needed. Assist with receiving and organizing incoming materials. Keep the yard, store, vehicles, and delivery areas clean and safe. Assist other team members with a variety of daily tasks as needed. Safety & Teamwork Follow all company safety procedures and material-handling practices. Operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Work cooperatively with the delivery, yard, and sales teams. Be dependable, punctual, and willing to take on different responsibilities throughout the day. Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic to the job every day. Qualifications Valid driver's license and clean driving record; CDL is a plus but not required. Knowledge of lumber and building materials is strongly preferred. Previous experience in delivery, construction, lumber/building materials, retail, or a related field is preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard, store, and delivery environment. Ability to safely operate company vehicles. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods. Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn. Forklift experience is a plus; training is available for the right candidate.
