Delivery Driver – Route 8

Duties Safely operate box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles to deliver goods along Route 8, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition and report any maintenance issues promptly. Manage delivery schedules efficiently by planning routes using mobile devices or navigation tools to maximize productivity. Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns. Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including signatures, delivery logs, and inventory records. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle interior and storage areas to promote safety and efficiency. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving material handling equipment operation. Strong knowledge of commercial truck driving, van driving, and route driving best practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while adhering to weight handling regulations in the workplace. Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and safe lifting practices for moving heavy items. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor. Experience operating mobile devices for route navigation and communication purposes. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling requirements.
