Delivery Driver (Full-Time) – Houston, TX La Fortuna Imports – Houston, TX www.lafortunaimports.com About Us La Fortuna Imports is a small importer and distributor of cookware and food-safe clay pottery from Mexico. We proudly supply grocery stores and retailers across Texas, providing authentic products that connect with the Hispanic market. Position Summary We’re looking for a full-time delivery driver based in Houston, TX , to handle local deliveries and overnight routes throughout Texas and nearby states. Key Responsibilities Safely operate small to mid-size company vans to deliver products to clients. Complete local delivery routes within the Houston area. Make overnight delivery trips every other week to regions including West Texas, El Valle (Rio Grande Valley), Oklahoma, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas. Most routes require one overnight stay ; West Texas routes may require two nights . Outside delivery routes require early morning departures , as some stores open as early as 6:00 a.m. Take care of the company vehicle : keep it clean, report any maintenance needs, and communicate with the manager about required service. Driver will be responsible for taking the vehicle to the shop for scheduled service when instructed. Assist in the warehouse with preparing orders, loading/unloading, and maintaining organization and cleanliness. Perform basic merchandising tasks at stores to keep displays organized and presentable. Keep product sections clean, organized, and well-stocked. Communicate professionally with clients and team members. Requirements Valid driver’s license (able to operate small to mid-size vans). Bilingual (Spanish/English) – required. Able to lift product packages weighing 10–45 lbs . Reliable, responsible, and willing to travel overnight twice a month. Comfortable with early-morning departures for long-distance deliveries. Schedule Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts for local routes. Overnight trips every other week (usually early in the week, with early departures). General Support within the Company As part of a small business , the position requires flexibility and willingness to assist with other operational activities as needed. These may include: Counting and organizing inventory. Supporting other administrative or operational tasks as required. Compensation Starting pay: $16.00/hour (8-hour days). Outside delivery trips are typically longer than 8 hours; the bonus per trip ($100–$250) is designed to cover the additional travel time. Hotel stays are paid by the company. Meal compensation: $15 for one-night trips or $30 for two-night trips. There will be a performance evaluation after the first month of training to review progress and responsibilities. After the initial review, performance evaluation will take place in 6 months , and then annually thereafter.
