POSITION This position runs day-to-day delivery operations, ensuring seamless movement of goods from warehouse to customer receipt. This role liaises closely with the Warehouse Lead to keep product moving smoothly and efficiently from order to customer dropoff and owns the portion from truck loading to customer receipt. As a senior member of the operations department, a foundational requirement is team leadership and coordination, including monitoring and motivating team members to meet performance metrics, safety compliance, and superior customer service. This role is expected to cover delivery backup for staff vacations and could drive up to 50%. This is a non-CDL full-time, hourly position. It may, on occasion, include some overnight routes and some days up to 14 hours. Hours may start as early as 3 am and as late as 7 pm. Support hiring, performance management, and employee issues in conjunction with the Operations Manager and HR. Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and legal driving requirements. Become an expert in the ERP/WMS system, with a focus on routing and trucks. Become an expert in Route Tracking/ELD software to support compliance, safety, and coaching tracking. Monitor fuel spending to ensure high-cost fuel stations are avoided. Manage routes and staffing to minimize overtime hours. Keep up on preventive maintenance to avoid high-dollar repairs. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition at all times. Proactively monitor, track, and train on ELD system safety scores and incidents. Monitor FMCSA safety scores and incidents. PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires the ability to tolerate varying environmental temperatures and weather conditions. Consistently lift up to 40 lbs. Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, crouch, and use hands and arms to handle, feel, reach, or carry. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl. Safely and repeatedly maneuver pallets up to 600 lbs. alone, with the use of an electric pallet jack. Drive safely and alertly for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours. SKILLS, EXPERIENCES, AND COMPETENCIES: DOT compliance knowledge and familiarity with fleet management Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and expectations 5 years of experience driving in a professional capacity, including 1-year leading teams Working knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD) and monitoring systems Working knowledge of route optimization methodologies (TSP, dynamic optimization, etc.) LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Current DOT certification required and must be maintained Valid driver's license Road or workplace safety training or certification, preferred…
