As a Delivery Driver Helper, you will assist with loading, unloading, and delivering items while ensuring excellent customer service. Duties Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts. Support the safe movement of goods within warehouses and during delivery routes, adhering to proper lifting practices and weight handling protocols. Help load box trucks or vans accurately according to route plans, ensuring all items are secured for transit. Navigate routes efficiently using mobile devices, following planned delivery schedules while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Aid in the safe transport of goods by supporting drivers during route driving, including assisting with navigation and traffic compliance. Provide excellent customer service by helping deliver items directly to customers’ locations, answering questions professionally, and ensuring a positive experience. Participate in warehouse operations when not on delivery routes, including inventory management, material handling, and equipment operation. Requirements Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred. Experience with commercial driving or box truck operation is highly desirable; valid driver’s license required. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks safely. Proven ability to lift heavy loads safely using proper lifting techniques; physical strength and stamina are essential. Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safe driving practices for delivery vehicles. Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and clear communication abilities. Comfortable working with mobile devices for route navigation and delivery documentation. Ability to work in physically demanding environments involving moving materials or products regularly.
