Delivery Driver Helper

Duties Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading furniture using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts. Help secure cargo properly in box trucks or vans, ensuring adherence to safety standards and weight distribution guidelines. Support route driving by preparing delivery routes, verifying addresses, and ensuring all items are accounted for before departure. Safely load, move, and unload heavy items while practicing proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. Aid in maintaining warehouse operations by organizing inventory, managing stock movement, and operating warehouse equipment as needed. Follow all traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and safe driving practices during route driving and delivery assistance. Communicate effectively with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns professionally. Experience Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations Experience in commercial driving, especially with box trucks or vans, is highly desirable. Prior delivery driver experience involving personal vehicle delivery or courier services is a plus. Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and safe lifting practices is beneficial. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and moving carts safely. Familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and documentation during deliveries.
