Responsibilities Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading goods safely using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts. Support route driving by helping to organize deliveries efficiently, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination. Help with the safe lifting, carrying, and moving of packages, adhering to proper lifting practices and weight handling standards. Collaborate with drivers to load vans accurately, ensuring all items are properly secured for transit. Maintain clear communication with the driver regarding delivery instructions, traffic conditions, and customer requirements via mobile devices or other communication tools. Support warehouse operations by helping with inventory management, stock movement, and maintaining a clean work environment. Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during all driving-related activities. Requirements Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred. Valid driver’s license with experience in commercial driving or van/courier services; a box truck or personal vehicle delivery experience is a plus. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks safely. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, moving packages, and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of safe lifting practices and weight handling in the workplace to prevent injuries. Familiarity with route driving, adhering to traffic regulations, and maintaining a professional customer service attitude. Experience with mobile devices for navigation or communication purposes is advantageous. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
