Delivery Driver Helper

Duties Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts Support the driver in navigating routes efficiently while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements Help with the safe lifting, moving, and placement of goods, ensuring proper manual handling practices are followed to prevent injury Conduct routine inspections of delivery vehicles, including box trucks and vans, ensuring they are clean, safe, and properly maintained Aid in organizing warehouse inventory and preparing packages for delivery to streamline route execution Communicate effectively with customers during deliveries to ensure satisfaction and address any immediate concerns or questions Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, manual transmission operation, and workplace weight handling standards Skills Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is highly desirable Experience with commercial driving, including van or box truck operation, is a strong plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques and manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks Knowledge of route driving, delivery driving procedures, and adhering to traffic regulations is essential Familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation or delivery documentation enhances efficiency Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions during deliveries Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently in a warehouse or delivery environment Experience with manual transmission vehicles is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in logistics, driving, and customer service within a fast-paced environment.
