Location: San Jose, CA Job Type: Full-time Pay: $35–$40 per hour, depending on experience Job Description D&S Electric Group Inc., an established commercial and industrial electrical contractor serving the Bay Area since 1983, is seeking a dependable, organized individual to support our field crews with material purchasing, inventory management, and deliveries. This position combines hands-on delivery driving with purchasing and coordinating electrical materials to help keep our projects running efficiently. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, communicating with vendors and field crews, and managing multiple priorities throughout the day. Previous professional delivery driving experience is required. Electrical materials knowledge or purchasing experience is preferred. Responsibilities Purchase electrical parts and supplies from vendors, verifying specifications, quantities, and order accuracy. Coordinate material orders and deliveries with suppliers and field crews to meet project needs. Pick up and deliver electrical parts, tools, and materials to construction jobsites throughout the Bay Area. Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile navigation tools to ensure timely deliveries. Occasionally operate an F-250 with a 16-foot trailer to transport job boxes and scissor lifts. Track purchases, outstanding orders, deliveries, and inventory using digital systems. Communicate with vendors and field crews regarding order status, material availability, and delivery updates. Verify materials and quantities during pickup and delivery. Assist with warehouse operations, including receiving materials, stock replenishment, and maintaining a clean and organized shop. Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with vendors, customers, and field personnel. Qualifications Previous professional delivery driving experience required. Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurance requirements. Experience operating pickup trucks and safely towing trailers. Electrical materials knowledge or purchasing experience preferred. Comfortable using computers, email, mobile navigation, and order-tracking systems. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through. Ability to prioritize multiple requests and work independently. Knowledge of safe lifting practices and proper material handling techniques, including safely moving and transporting heavy or bulky materials. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors, customers, and field crews.
