Delivery Driver

Duties Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards. Plan efficient routes using organizational skills to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption. Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting practices, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of yourself and others. Engage with customers professionally during deliveries, building positive relationships through clear communication and excellent customer service. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure safety and compliance; report any maintenance issues promptly. Manage delivery documentation accurately, including route logs, delivery receipts, and client communication records. Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging retail store experience to enhance sales opportunities. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial driving or heavy vehicle operation, with a valid driver’s license suitable for the vehicle type. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe lifting practices to ensure compliance and safety on the job. Strong math skills for pricing calculations, route planning, and inventory management. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks regularly. Prior retail store experience or merchandising background is a plus for understanding product placement during deliveries.
