Delivery Driver Class B

Job Title: Class “B” CDL Driver Department: Lancaster Store Reports To: Southeast Regional Manager Job Summary/Overview: In this position, you will maintain a professional attitude while servicing clients; maintain a safe driving record; be familiar with all products; have knowledge and follow all DOT, OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory agency regulations at all times. Job Functions/Responsibilities: Driver: · Operate company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner to provide supplies/products (cylinders and hard-goods) to customers · Ensure all products (cylinders and hard-goods) are properly loaded, secured, and unload at end-of-day · Ensure that proper placards are displayed · Notify manager of unusual contacts with customers or undelivered product at end-of-day · Provide prompt and courteous service to customers · Properly inspect vehicle daily as required by the DOT and record any defects observed and immediately notify the store manager in writing of potential operational/safety problems · Keep delivery vehicle clean, in good working condition with daily inspections, and maintenance up-to-date (schedule any maintenance needed) · Report any problems to manager that may arise · Enter route invoices into computer · Operate fork lift as necessary · Always conduct self in a professional and courteous manner towards customers and other employees · Must be willing to provide any necessary information required to secure access to entry to a customer’s delivery site or premises · Maintain all proper paperwork and supply all documentation required by DOT · Other duties as assigned Required Knowledge/Special Skills/Abilities: · Must have/maintain a valid Class “B” CDL w/appropriate endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, Airbrakes) · Ability to put safety above all else, while following all safety guidelines · Above average organizational and communication skills · Ability and willingness to listen and follow directions with above average ability to multi-task · Able to self-direct with knowledge and confidence · Ability to learn company specific computer program · Basic computer and math skills Physical/Personal Demands: · Ability to sit and drive to DOT standards · Bending, stooping, reaching · Use protective equipment when required by task and DeLille policy · Roll cylinders up to 150 lbs. and lift up to 75 lbs. · Must maintain regular attendance staying within company guidelines for absenteeism · Maintain a neat, personal appearance · Maintain a good working relationship with all employees and customers · Must pass mandatory drug/alcohol screen(s) and DOT required physical Work Environment · Detailed environment · Customer service oriented driven by business needs · Warehouse/outside environment Disclaimer: The above Job Description is not intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed on this job.
