Position Overview: Chicken Soup Brigade (CSB) is Lifelong’s food and nutrition program, providing medically tailored meals, culturally relevant groceries, and nutritional counseling & education to community members facing illness and injustice. The Delivery Driver plays a key role in ensuring clients receive their groceries and medically tailored meals safely, reliably, and with dignity. This regular, full-time, non-exempt, union role is based in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle with onsite presence required 08:30AM – 5PM Monday – Friday. Essential Duties Distribution Operate agency vehicles to deliver groceries and medically tailored meals to clients throughout the Puget Sound region, which may include other unique stops across multiple counties. Provide respectful, compassionate customer service during deliveries to clients who may be experiencing health challenges or other barriers. Load, transport, and deliver items safely and to prevent damage and spoilage. Plan and navigate efficient delivery routes using GPS and routing tools, accounting for traffic, construction, and client scheduling needs Follow all traffic laws, posted signs, and safety protocols. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and always ensure safe operating conditions. Lifelong’s Food and Nutrition department is a dynamic and growing program, requiring adaptability, flexibility, and prioritizing of time and resources for meeting daily deliverables. Warehouse Repack bulk shelf-stable food items for distribution. Assemble grocery bags with fresh produce and perishable goods. Prepare frozen meals for delivery. Receive deliveries of inbound freight and store them while maintaining food safety guidelines. Support general warehouse operations and complete additional tasks as assigned. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and shifting priorities. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Valid Washington State Driver’s License with an excellent record. Preferred: Experience working with culturally diverse populations. Preferred: demonstrated competence, as evidenced through previous experience, working with clients with psychiatric disabilities, chemical dependency and/or life-challenging illness.
