Responsibilities Safely operate various vehicles including commercial trucks and automobiles to deliver products to retail stores and clients. Plan efficient routes using route driving skills to maximize delivery speed and accuracy. Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks. Engage with customers professionally, providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and building lasting client relationships. Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, enhancing sales opportunities while meeting customer needs. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including pricing details and delivery logs, in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure automobile transportation safety standards are met and report any maintenance issues promptly. Organize daily delivery schedules, coordinate with dispatch teams, and adapt to changing routes or priorities efficiently. Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws diligently to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road. Experience Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery roles, preferably within retail store environments or similar settings. Strong knowledge of driving regulations, including DOT (Department of Transportation) rules for commercial vehicles. Demonstrated ability in basic math for accurate pricing calculations and route planning. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination. Experience in merchandising or product presentation is a plus for handling deliveries effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices; physically capable of handling demanding tasks regularly. Familiarity with sales techniques such as upselling to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth.
