Delivery Driver

About the opportunity We are a contracted delivery partner serving the Ottawa area. Our success depends entirely on the drivers who represent us at every door, every day. We are currently hiring drivers to run daily parcel routes out of our Kanata and Hawthowne Station locations, with immediate starts available. This is a route based, on the road position. You start at your assigned location each morning, complete your route, and finish the same day. No long haul and no cross border driving. Responsibilities Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pickup and delivery schedules Scan packages as they are received, delivered, or returned to the warehouse Capture Proof of Delivery for every completed delivery. No package may be marked as delivered without a valid POD. Prioritize business deliveries. All business packages must be attempted during business hours and cannot be first attempted after 5:00 PM. Complete all assigned routes, or communicate immediately with dispatch if an issue arises Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with dispatch and customers Conduct daily pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections Handle all packages with care and maintain professional conduct at every stop Qualifications Education Completion of high school Licence and background Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence Clean driver's abstract Clean criminal background check dated within the last 6 months. A newer check is preferred. Vehicle You must supply your own vehicle. Accepted vehicle types are cargo van, minivan, or SUV. Sedans are not accepted. Valid vehicle registration for the vehicle you will use Valid vehicle insurance for the vehicle you will use Vehicle must be equipped with appropriate winter tires and be winter ready for peak season operations Skills Comfortable using a handheld scanner and a smartphone delivery application Experience driving through Canadian winter conditions Strong time management and the ability to work independently once trained Proficiency in English is required for this position due to frequent communication with dispatch and customers Physical requirements Candidates must be able to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 pounds, and to perform extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and climbing in and out of a vehicle throughout the shift. Working conditions On the road and warehouse environments, in all weather conditions. Peak season operations require consistent route coverage, reliable vehicle readiness, and availability through increased delivery volumes.
