Delivery Driver
GEMTECH - BREASUMMARY Drives truck over established route to deliver products, collects payment from C.O.D. customers, and performs the following duties. Note: more duties may be assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Checks shipping board for deliveries and/or pick-ups. Communicates with supervisor of any changes. Loads and unloads truck using forklift, other available loading equipment, or manually; no more than 50 Ibs. manually. Checks paperwork of all orders loaded on truck. Track ID number from box(es) of parts to customer purchase order. Drives truck to deliver and pick-up customer's parts to and from the customer's place of business and Danco. Operates truck in a safe and efficient manner, following all company policies and laws, with special emphasis on the California State Vehicle Code. Collects payments from C.O.D. customers and records transactions on customer receipt. Receives purchase orders or other shipping documents from customers with parts that are to be picked-up. Has customer sign Danco's copy of shipper and delivers customer's shipper copy along with the customer's parts. Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery record (log report). Listens to and reports to supervisor any service complaints. Informs regular customers of new products or services. Refers potential customers to sales manager. OTHER DUTIES Has routine maintenance (clean windows, check and change oil, check tires, etc.) on truck performed regularly. Records log of maintenance performed, where and when performed. Responsible for overall cleanliness of truck as a good representation of the company. Assist with shipping/receiving duties in the absence of shipping/receiving clerk(s). Perform any and all reasonable duties when asked by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of truck driving experience LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and write general business correspondence and governmental regulations. Ability to communicate with customers in a professional and friendly manner. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to count, calculate figures and perform basic mathematical functions. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A clean DMV record, current insurance, and a current driver's license.
