Delivery Driver (3-Ton & 5-Ton Truck)

DelGate Logistics is looking for a dependable, safety-conscious Delivery Driver to join our team. This hands-on role combines truck driving with loading, unloading, and delivering furniture and other large items alongside a delivery helper. Delivery requirements vary by order. Some deliveries include in-home placement, unpacking, assembly, and packaging removal. Key Responsibilities Safely operate 3-ton and 5-ton box trucks along scheduled delivery routes. Load, secure, transport, and unload items with a delivery helper. Handle merchandise carefully and protect customers’ property throughout each delivery. Move items through doorways, hallways, stairs, and elevators as required. Provide white-glove services when specified, including in-home placement, unpacking, furniture assembly, and packaging removal. Deliver friendly, professional customer service and communicate clearly with customers and the dispatch team. Complete delivery paperwork and proof of delivery accurately. Promptly report damage, missing items, delays, or delivery concerns. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical or safety issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe truck and work environment. Follow safe lifting procedures and work closely with your helper when handling heavy or bulky items. Required Qualifications Valid Class 5 driver’s license , with a clean driving record. Proven experience operating 3-ton and 5-ton box trucks . Previous experience in delivery, moving, or logistics. Ability to regularly lift and carry 50–75 lbs. independently and handle heavier or bulky items with a partner and appropriate equipment. Comfortable with physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, carrying, and stair use. Furniture assembly experience and familiarity with common tools for deliveries that require setup. Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills. Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Available to work weekends when required. Able to complete a criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications Previous white-glove delivery experience , particularly with furniture, appliances, or other large household items. Experience providing in-home delivery services while protecting floors, walls, doorways, and merchandise. Experience with unpacking, product placement, assembly, and packaging removal. Familiarity with delivery apps, electronic proof of delivery, and damage reporting.
