Delivery Driver – 26' Refrigerated Box Truck (Non-CDL)

About Us Gotham Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) food rescue nonprofit. We pick up fresh, high-quality surplus food and deliver it directly to public housing communities in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Our drivers are the backbone of that work. Every route you complete puts food on the tables of New Yorkers who need it. The Role We're looking for a reliable, mission-driven driver to operate a 26-foot refrigerated box truck on pickup and delivery routes throughout New York City. You'll load and unload palletized food, keep to a tight schedule, and represent Gotham Food Pantry to our food donors and the communities we serve. Responsibilities Safely operate a 26' refrigerated box truck (non-CDL) throughout the five boroughs Load and unload pallets using a pallet jack and liftgate Complete pickups and deliveries on schedule Communicate clearly and promptly with dispatch, donors, and community partners about timing, delays, and any issues on the route Follow route instructions and direction from the operations team Handle food safely and keep the refrigerated cargo area at proper temperature Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report maintenance issues Keep the truck clean and organized Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no suspensions Experience driving a 26' box truck (refrigerated experience a plus) Proficient with a pallet jack and liftgate Strong knowledge of NYC streets, including truck routes, across all five boroughs Able to take direction, stay on task, and keep to a schedule Clear, dependable communication skills Positive attitude and a professional, respectful manner with donors and community members Able to lift 50 lbs and handle the physical demands of loading and unloading Genuine care for our mission of feeding the people of New York City Must pass a background check Apply through Indeed with your resume and a brief note about your driving experience and a reference.
