Delivery Driver

Delivery Driver for Subcontractor Employment type: full-time Job Description: Local Sub-Contractor looking for an experienced driver to deliver glass and other items to/from jobsites in and around the San Antonio and surrounding areas. As part of this position you will also be expected to work in the warehouse/jobsites when not making deliveries. Also must be prepared to load/unload trucks containing glass and other glazing supplies in an open warehouse and outdoors. Duties: 1. Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. 2. Check all load-related documentation to ensure complete and accurate and obtain receipts or signatures when loads are delivered. 3. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. 4. Secure cargo for transport using straps, ropes, blocks, binders, and/or covers. 5. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles immediately to supervisor and HR. 6. Read and interpret maps in order to determine vehicle routes, or use automated routing equipment (i.e. GPS) 7. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes. 8. Inspect goods to be moved to determine conditions prior to moving. 9. Remove any debris from trailers after loading and unloading is completed. 10. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma/GED. 2. Some experience operating a sit down fork lift. 3. Must have good driving record and valid license 4. Must be able to pass background check (No felonies) No recent assaults/theft - NO recent DUI's 5. One (1) year work-related driving experience and skills. 6. Good oral and written communication skills. 7. Good organization skills -- prioritize work assignments and manage work time. 8. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
