New EraDelivery Associate / Freight Handler Company: New Era Trucking & Logistics Location: Bossier City, Louisiana; travels with the assigned driver Reports to: Transportation / Operations Manager Position Summary New Era Trucking & Logistics is seeking a dependable Delivery Associate and/or Freight Handler to ride with assigned drivers and assist with freight pickups and deliveries. This position supports safe loading, unloading, freight handling, and customer service. Driving duties require separate company authorization and appropriate qualifications. Key Responsibilities Ride with the assigned driver and assist at pickup and delivery locations. Load, unload, count, and organize freight. Assist with cargo securement under the driver’s direction. Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, and liftgates after training and authorization. Check freight for visible damage and promptly report discrepancies. Assist with delivery documentation, photographs, and customer signatures. Serve as a spotter when needed, following company safety procedures. Keep the vehicle’s cargo area and equipment clean and organized. Communicate respectfully with customers and protect their property. Report injuries, unsafe conditions, and equipment concerns immediately. Qualifications Dependable attendance and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work cooperatively with drivers, coworkers, and customers. Warehouse, moving, delivery, or freight handling experience preferred. Pallet jack and material handling experience preferred. Forklift certification or pallet jack certification preferred. Ability to use basic mobile delivery applications. Willingness to complete company safety and equipment training. A driver’s license is required only if the position includes authorized driving duties. Physical and Scheduling Requirements Work includes frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and moving freight using equipment or team assistance. Employees may work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel for the duration of assigned routes. Scheduling may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
