Position Summary Spec-9 Commercial Flooring is looking for a dependable, hardworking Delivery & Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for picking up flooring materials from Spec-9 and local distributors, transporting materials to jobsites, and properly staging materials for our installation crews. The position will also involve returning materials from distributors to the Spec-9 warehouse and assisting with general material handling and warehouse activities. This is a physically demanding position. You will regularly handle ceramic and porcelain tile, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), carpet tile, broadloom carpet, adhesives, and other flooring materials. Some materials can be heavy, awkward, and tiring to move. The ability to safely lift, carry, load, unload, and stage flooring materials throughout the workday is an essential part of the job. The right person for this position is dependable, physically capable, safety-minded, organized, and willing to work hard. You will be representing Spec-9 at distributors, jobsites, and in front of our customers and general contractors. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Delivery & Material Pickup Arrive at work on time and ready to work each day. Pick up flooring materials from Spec-9 and various local distributors. Verify that the correct materials, quantities, and products are being picked up before leaving the distributor or warehouse. Safely load materials onto company vehicles. Secure all materials properly for transportation. Deliver materials to commercial construction jobsites. Unload and stage materials in the designated location at each jobsite. Follow jobsite instructions regarding where materials are to be delivered and staged. Return unused, damaged, or incorrect materials to distributors or Spec-9 as directed. Pick up materials from distributors and return them to the Spec-9 warehouse when they are not going directly to a jobsite. Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers. Maintain accurate documentation for material pickups and deliveries. Communicate any shortages, damaged materials, incorrect materials, or delivery problems immediately. Jobsite Material Handling Safely move flooring materials throughout commercial construction sites. Stage materials in an organized manner so installers can efficiently access them. Follow instructions from project managers, superintendents, and jobsite personnel. Keep materials protected from damage and weather when required. Help keep jobsites and staging areas clean and organized. Take care when moving materials through finished or partially finished areas. Avoid damaging walls, doors, flooring, fixtures, or other property while moving materials. Report jobsite issues, material damage, or unsafe conditions to management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Valid driver's license. Acceptable driving record. Ability to safely operate a company vehicle. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position. Ability to lift and move heavy and awkward materials. Ability to work in commercial construction environments. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, distributors, and contractors. Willingness to obtain required Lull/telehandler certification. Ability to work independently and follow directions. Commitment to working safely. Preferred Qualifications Previous flooring industry experience. Previous construction experience. Warehouse or material-handling experience. Forklift experience. Lull/telehandler experience or certification. Commercial delivery experience. Experience working on commercial construction jobsites. Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 – 45.0 per week Benefits: Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
