Dedicated Fleet Dispatcher

Job Summary M&P Transport, the asset-based trucking division of M&P Logistics, is seeking an experienced Dedicated Fleet Dispatcher to oversee drivers servicing a long-standing customer. With over a decade of partnership and a minimum three-year contract in place, this is an opportunity to manage an established, dedicated operation. This position requires someone who understands both daily fleet operations and the financial side of transportation. You will be responsible for dispatching drivers, securing profitable backhauls, minimizing empty miles, and ensuring efficient, reliable service. Backhaul experience is required. We need someone who can actively source, negotiate, and secure backhaul freight rather than simply dispatch assigned loads. This is a hands-on, fully in-office position requiring exceptional communication, organization, accountability, and the ability to make sound operational decisions. What You'll Be Doing Manage daily dispatch operations for dedicated regional drivers throughout the southeastern United States. Find, negotiate, and book profitable backhauls. This is a major part of the position. Maximize revenue by reducing empty miles, downtime, and unnecessary expenses. Monitor fleet performance, revenue, expenses, and profitability (P&L). Coordinate routes, schedules, driver availability, and equipment utilization. Maintain consistent, proactive communication with drivers, customers, brokers, and internal teams. Address delays, breakdowns, scheduling changes, and service issues quickly. Track loads, ETAs, and delivery performance. Ensure DOT/HOS compliance and accurate transportation documentation. Build broker relationships to maintain consistent backhaul opportunities. Qualifications Proven backhaul experience. You must know how to independently source, negotiate, and book freight. 2–3+ years of transportation dispatching experience , preferably with an asset-based fleet. Understanding of transportation P&L. Know how dispatching decisions impact revenue, expenses, and profitability. Excellent communication. We expect clear, timely updates, follow-through, and proactive problem-solving. Experience managing multiple drivers and regional routes. Knowledge of DOT regulations, HOS, TMS, ELD systems, and load boards. Strong organizational skills, accountability, and the ability to make decisions independently. What We Offer $70,000–$90,000 base salary + commission based on backhaul performance. Established dedicated customer relationship spanning more than a decade. Minimum three-year customer contract.
