Ford of Jones CountyJob Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dealership Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee inventory control, supplier relationships, procurement processes, and parts administration to ensure seamless operations. Your expertise in automotive parts management, supply chain logistics, and customer service will drive efficiency, optimize sourcing strategies, and enhance overall dealership performance. Duties Manage the entire parts inventory, including sourcing, pricing, demand planning, and stock control to meet dealership needs efficiently. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) partners to negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely part sourcing. Oversee procurement management processes, including purchase order creation, order management system updates, and shipping & receiving coordination. Utilize inventory management systems and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tools to track parts availability, perform data entry, and maintain accurate records of parts administration. Coordinate logistics, warehouse management, and shipping & receiving activities to optimize inventory flow and reduce excess stock or shortages. Lead internal communication efforts across departments such as automotive service, auto body repair, and equipment repair to ensure parts availability aligns with operational demands. Implement inventory control measures using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools while managing logistics inventory management for maximum efficiency. Support parts sourcing initiatives by leveraging negotiation skills and market analysis to identify cost-effective options while maintaining quality standards. Supervise the parts team by providing training on automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, forklift operation, and equipment repair procedures. Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to warehouse management, forklift operation, HVAC systems maintenance, and other equipment handling. Qualifications Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement management, or automotive parts administration within a dealership or manufacturing environment. Strong supplier management experience with a track record of successful negotiation and sourcing strategies. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems, OEM parts specifications, and automotive service processes. Familiarity with inventory management systems such as ERP platforms or specialized parts inventory software; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential. Hands-on experience with warehouse management practices including shipping & receiving procedures and logistics coordination. Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Mechanical knowledge related to automotive parts & accessories is highly desirable for effective parts sourcing and troubleshooting. Excellent internal communication skills for collaboration across departments; strong data entry skills for accurate record keeping. Demonstrated ability to manage demand planning effectively while maintaining high levels of customer service standards within a fast-paced environment.
