The Distribution Center (DC) Specialist II (Receiving) is a cross-trained warehouse professional who supports all aspects of DC operations. This role is primarily responsible for receiving and processing inbound merchandise, including unloading, verifying, receiving merchandise in the ERP system, tagging, and putting away inventory while supporting order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and overall warehouse operations. Team members are expected to contribute where needed based on customer demand and business priorities. This position requires attention to detail, accountability, consistency, and the ability to follow standardized processes while working independently and collaboratively. Employees are expected to maintain high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and accuracy. Key Responsibilities and other duties as assigned: Receiving & Inbound Operations: Unloads inbound trucks/containers using powered industrial equipment or by hand and stages merchandise on the Receiving dock while the shipment is being processed. Verifies incoming shipments and merchandise against purchase orders, packing lists, bills of lading, shipping addresses, and other documentation to ensure the delivery is correct. Inspects incoming merchandise for visible damage, shortages, incorrect product, and other discrepancies, and checks expiration dates when applicable. Researches and resolves discrepancies related to inbound receipts and escalates issues as needed. Receives merchandise in the ERP system and applies required tags to identify products for storage and inventory control. Moves received merchandise from the Receiving dock to designated storage locations, including pallet rack and bulk floor storage. Maintains professional working relationships with carriers and delivery drivers. Order Fulfillment & General DC Support: Accurately picks customer orders using RF scanning technology and supports packing and shipping as needed. Performs assigned cycle counts and other inventory support activities. Safely operates powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, electric pallet jacks (EPJs), and Bendi forklifts, in accordance with company policies and training requirements. Performs down-stocking and replenishment of primary pick locations as needed and assists with other Distribution Center functions based on workload, staffing, and business priorities. Maintains dependable onsite attendance and a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, including wearing required PPE. Participates in assigned warehouse tasks, including cardboard baler operation, industrial equipment battery watering, and other projects as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years of relevant Distribution Center experience or a combination of 4 years of post-secondary education and/or relevant Distribution Center experience. Skills and Experience: Industrial Equipment certification will be required with a valid Driver’s License. Equipment includes but is not limited to a forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric jack. Immediate notification of suspension or revocation of Driver’s License is mandatory.
