Day / Night Trucking Dispatcher - Terminal work

Job Summary Trucking Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of drivers and containers from Port of Los Angeles & Long Beach, local, or long haul pick up and deliveries to maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all customers. We are looking for someone with great phone skills, communication skills, and customer service. The dispatcher must have the ability to multi-task and problem solve. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. · Assign routes to drivers daily for the upcoming day night. · Handle field incoming calls and emails from customers and sales departments; manage request for pick-up or delivery while ensuring adequate service response. · Coordinating driver movement in the field with received calls and customers’ needs for service to optimize efficiency throughout the day. · Initiate outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site/location, resolve pick-up and other issues. · Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues. Relay any service issues to Management. · Record and document information from Drivers and distribute to the appropriate departments Qualifications The requirements below are necessary to perform the job. · 2 years + Dispatch experience dealing with terminals. Having dealt with a variety of drivers at one time. · Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations. · Professional, courteous, and cooperative with customers and co-workers. · Good time management skills and follow through to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and timely manner. · Ability to adhere to company policies and rules set forth; promotes the company’s safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks. · Bilingual Speaker Preferred Work Environment ● Full Time ● Diverse Multicultural Work Remotely No Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Experience: Dispatching: 3 years (Preferred) Work Location: In person
