Day Forklift Operator (Standing Reach lift)

Day Forklift Operator (Reach Truck) Department: Day Warehouse Location: Baton Rouge Status: Hourly | Non-Exempt About the Role Our Day Forklift Operator plays an important role in keeping our warehouse running efficiently. You'll operate stand-up reach forklifts (reach trucks) to move produce from the receiving dock to designated cooler locations, maintain proper product rotation, and ensure inventory remains fresh and organized. Accuracy, efficiency, and safety are essential to this position. Important: This position requires previous hands-on experience operating stand-up reach trucks. Experience with traditional sit-down forklifts alone does not meet this requirement. What You'll Do Safely operate stand-up reach forklifts to move produce from the receiving dock to designated cooler locations. Scan pallets and complete inventory transactions using the Produce Pro system. Break down, sort, and organize pallets as needed. Rotate and organize products daily to maintain proper inventory rotation. Verify proper product identification and tagging before releasing items into inventory. Inspect produce for freshness, quality, and proper ripeness. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Follow all company safety, food safety, and equipment operating procedure What We're Looking For Required: Previous hands-on experience operating stand-up reach forklifts (reach trucks). Experience operating sit-down forklifts alone does not satisfy the required reach truck experience. Ability to demonstrate safe reach truck operation and successfully complete company-required equipment training and evaluations. Previous warehouse, receiving, or distribution experience preferred. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and push or maneuver materials weighing up to 200 lbs. using appropriate equipment or assistance. Comfortable working in refrigerated environments, including temperatures around 34°F. Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, reach, and remain physically active throughout the shift. Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively with a team. Work Environment This position operates in a fast-paced, refrigerated warehouse with moving equipment and ongoing product-handling activities. Employees may work in temperatures ranging from below freezing to outdoor Louisiana heat. Proper safety procedures and required personal protective equipment must be followed.
