Role and Responsibilities of Dangerous Goods Manager:
The Manager, Dangerous Goods will lead the Dangerous Goods Compliance program by managing training, procedures, projects, and ongoing program improvements. This leadership role focuses on translating regulations into effective processes, supporting technology-driven solutions, and developing teams to ensure proper handling of dangerous goods shipments.
• Manage and maintain the Dangerous Goods Compliance program, including training, procedures, and process improvements.
• Assess current compliance strategies and controls to identify priorities that improve organizational performance.
• Translate dangerous goods regulations into processes, tools, and solutions that support accurate shipment handling.
• Lead the adoption of dangerous goods automation solutions and support technology-based improvements.
• Manage projects that improve compliance processes and operational effectiveness.
• Lead and develop team members through direct and indirect reporting structures.
• Communicate compliance requirements and business updates effectively across all organizational levels.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support dangerous goods compliance initiatives and program maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience of Dangerous Goods Manager:
• 7-12 years of experience in Dangerous Goods operations and compliance.
• Experience leading successful projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of dangerous goods regulations, compliance processes, and operational requirements.
• Ability to translate regulations into practical business processes and solutions.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with dangerous goods automation solutions and technology implementation.
• Experience leading compliance programs within logistics or freight forwarding environments.
• Experience managing direct reports and cross-functional teams.
