Customs Operations Specialist

You will be an integral member of our world-class Logistics team, responsible for ensuring smooth fulfilment of orders and shipments for customers across more than 60 countries worldwide. You will be equipped through multi-disciplinary training to enable you to quickly get up to speed with our operational workflow, in order to maintain and enhance our fundamental operational processes. This will position you to oversee daily operations while continuously optimizing processes and adapting our operational strategy in alignment with business goals. The Customs Operations Specialist is a key role that will support the team in ensuring that shipments move efficiently, and in compliance with customs and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day import and export activity, coordinating with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure on-time, compliant movement of goods Compile, review and transmit shipment data and documentation to customs brokers to support timely and compliant entry filings Review customs entry documents and declarations for completeness and consistency, and escalate discrepancies where necessary Track inbound and outbound shipments and monitor customs clearance status, maintaining accurate shipment and clearance logs Serve as a daily point of contact for customs brokers and freight forwarders on routine documentation and shipment status queries Maintain accurate, well-organized records in accordance with recordkeeping and retention requirements Monitor customs holds, examinations, and documentation discrepancies, and escalate to key stakeholders where necessary Support post-entry activities by compiling documentation and data for Post Summary Corrections, Reconciliation, protests, duty drawback and refund claims under guidance Ensure that processes are aligned with regulatory requirements and internal standard operating procedures Monitor regulatory bulletins and trade notices, and flag relevant changes to key stakeholders Identify and report recurring errors, trends, or process gaps Other duties as assigned Requirements 3+ years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, supply chain, or customs brokerage Working knowledge of customs requirements, documentation and the import entry process Strong attention to detail, organization, and data accuracy Proficiency with spreadsheets, ERP, and logistics systems Experience with US import and customs processes Bonuses Experience with Canadian import and customs processes Customs broker license or other equivalent certifications.
