Customs Entry Writer (Bilingual in Chinese Mandarin)

Position Description : Working in a team office environment the Customs Entry Writer will perform a high volume of Type 86 customs clearance processes on key customs brokerage accounts, participate in a dedicated customer effort with continuous challenge and be responsible for final delivery of customer cargo. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 1. Entry writer for a Customs Broker. 2. Familiar with AMS filing and Type 86 clearance in ABI. 3. Verify arrival information with Airlines. 4. Accuracy in Data Entry & transmit to Customs. 5. Ensure terminals/warehouses/airlines have proper release. 6. Prepare for retrieval documents and Pay for ISC fee. 7. Provide superior customer service. 8. Other duties as needed. Qualifications: 1. Minimum of 1 year of Import Brokerage or related freight forwarder experience. 2. Minimum High School diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred. 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required (including effective communication with Customs / U.S. Customs and Border Protection). 4. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) with experience in Data Analysis, Mail Merge, and solid data entry skill. 5. Understand basic supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action. 6. Attention to detail and commitment to error-free work. 7. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. 8. Bilingual Chinese-Mandarin abilities are a plus.
