Customs Entry Writer
Alliance Operating ServicesPostion: Customs Entry Writer (Job# 20260958) About the Role Alliance Operating Services (AOS) is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to take full ownership of weekly Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) entry filings across a portfolio of client accounts. This is a high-accountability role for a professional who combines technical command of customs entry work with the speed, judgment, and composure to perform consistently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. The right candidate works independently, catches what others miss, and treats every filing as their own. You will be the point of control for accuracy from source records through CBP acceptance, and the source of clear, end-to-end reporting on entry value and duty for every account you manage. What You Will Do Prepare, review, and transmit weekly customs entries and entry summaries across multiple FTZ accounts, meeting every filing deadline. Validate HTS classifications, country of origin, declared values, and applicable duties and tariffs against supporting records before transmission. Reconcile entry data against inventory and zone withdrawal records, investigate discrepancies at the root, and resolve them before filing. Monitor filing responses, correct rejections promptly, and carry each entry through to acceptance. Deliver a weekly end-to-end entry valuation report for every account, comparing prefiled value and duty against post-entry submission results and explaining any variance. Identify, document, and report exceptions found during the filing process, including the issue, its impact, and the resolution or recommended action. Maintain a disciplined entry tracking system that shows the status of every entry from preparation through acceptance at any point in the week. Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready entry records and supporting documentation. Partner with internal teams to secure missing information and resolve processing issues. Prioritize competing deadlines and escalate risks early, with clear and concise communication. What You Bring Five or more years of experience in international trade or customs entry processing. Direct, hands-on experience preparing and filing FTZ weekly entries. Working knowledge of HTS classification, customs documentation, and duty and tariff application. Logistics experience involving inventory control, recordkeeping, and reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to build and deliver accurate valuation, duty, and exception reporting on a recurring weekly schedule. Strong recordkeeping discipline and a self-directed approach to organizing work and tracking entries without oversight. Proficiency with customs filing software (Acelynk) and Microsoft Access/Excel. Fast, accurate typing and data-entry skills. Sound judgment under time pressure, with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and adapt as requirements change. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Proven ability to independently manage recurring weekly filings across multiple accounts. High school diploma or equivalent. A customs broker license is not required. Compensation Compensation will be determined at the conclusion of the interview and selection process and will reflect the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
