Customs Entry Writer

Job Description Position Customs Entry Writer Location La Mirada, California Department Customs Brokerage Role Purpose Swift Cargo Inc. is looking for an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join our Customs Brokerage team in La Mirada, California. This is a full-time, in-office position. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience handling food and food-related imports and a good working knowledge of FDA and USDA import regulations. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review and transmit U.S. Customs entries through ACE. Independently manage entries from documentation review through Customs and PGA release. Handle food and food-related imports, including FDA-regulated products. Ensure compliance with FDA Prior Notice and other FDA entry requirements. Handle USDA/APHIS and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements and filings. Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates and other import documentation. Apply knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, country of origin and duty requirements. Monitor and resolve CBP, FDA and USDA holds, exams and documentation requests. Coordinate with customers and internal operations teams to ensure timely cargo clearance. Maintain a strong compliance-first and attention-to-detail approach. Experience & Skills Approximately 5 years of U.S. Customs Entry Writing experience. Strong hands-on experience with ACE. Strong experience with food, food ingredients, processed foods and/or agricultural imports. Excellent working knowledge of FDA regulations and FDA Prior Notice. Working knowledge of USDA/APHIS requirements. Experience with PGA filings and government agency requirements. Strong understanding of CBP entry procedures and customs documentation. Ability to work independently, manage multiple entries and meet clearance timelines. Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
