Customs Entry Specialist
ConfidentialJob Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customs Entry Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the customs clearance process for international shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and facilitating smooth cross-border trade operations. Duties Prepare and submit accurate customs entries and documentation in accordance with international trade regulations, including customs brokerage management and customs clearance procedures. Ensure compliance with all applicable Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) regulations such as FDA (Food and Drug Administration) or USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) requirements. Monitor and track shipment movements, coordinate with customs authorities, carriers, freight forwarders, and clients to communicate status while ensuring compliance and adhering to management standards. Conduct thorough analysis of import/export data using Excel and global trade management software to identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues Prepare detailed reports on regulatory compliance status, risk assessments, and trade activities for internal review and regulatory reporting purposes. Manage and maintain comprehensive documentation related to ensure regulatory compliance and compliance with future audits by customs authorities. Experience Proven experience in customs brokerage, import/export operations within a logistics or supply chain environment. Practical experience preparing and processing U.S. customs entries and procedures Experience reviewing commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and other international trade documentation. Familiarity with customs clearance management processes, trade compliance programs, and risk management strategies. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting. Ability to identify documentation discrepancies, troubleshoot entry issues, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Experience with customs brokerage/entry software is required or strongly preferred. Bilingual English and Spanish or another language is considered a plus/asset.
