Customs Clearance Specialist

Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift Work Location: In person About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented Customs Clearance Specialist to support daily customs clearance and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing customs documentation, coordinating with customs brokers and logistics partners, verifying HS codes, maintaining accurate shipment records, and supporting customs compliance. Responsibilities Prepare, receive, and review customs-related documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, B/Ls, and other clearance paperwork. Communicate and coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure smooth customs clearance processes. Review and verify HS codes for imported and exported goods, provide classification suggestions, and help ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Perform accurate data entry in internal systems and customs platforms to maintain complete and compliant shipment records. Liaise with customs authorities to respond to inquiries, resolve clearance issues, and provide supporting documentation when required. Monitor shipment status, identify potential compliance risks, and assist in ensuring all customs filings are submitted accurately and on time. Maintain and organize customs and shipment-related records and documentation. Use Microsoft Excel to manage, organize, and analyze shipment and customs-related data. Qualifications Mandarin is required. English proficiency in both written and verbal communication is required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Responsible, organized, and able to manage tasks independently. Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Customs, Business, or a related field is an asset. Previous logistics, customs, freight forwarding, or related experience is an asset.
